Making Progress at the Marina
After two beautiful days, I think Seattle just experienced Summer and now we’re back to some “other” season. That’s right, yesterday afternoon the winds switched around, the temperature dropped and the clouds returned. Shortly thereafter, it began to rain, and rain…and rain some more. Now I just looked online at the weather blip that is fixed to Seattle on my homepage. It suggests that its 55° and Sunny outside…I beg to differ! It’s probably in the low 50′s but it rained since noon yesterday. Well, enough of my whining…this was actually in the weather forecast, so I’m not exactly surprised. So this lovely afternoon rain is allowing me to catch up on some inside work like checking all the electronics out and getting the necessary updates installed on my Navigation and Weather software. That is proving a tad more cumbersome than anticipated, mostly because I can’t access one of the programs (their servers are down), and I am using my AirCard for internet access which is SLOW! Yes, it’s true. I am looking at another way to post these blogs and I hit the “go” button by mistake. Sorry for the confusion and I do appreciate the feedback.
Additionally, a few of you have commented that you are experiencing difficulty viewing these. Please let me know if that is the case. Me thinks me needs to do some work on the site but I need your feedback..
Thanks! And I will be putting out another real message in the next couple of days.

Shilshole Marina, Seattle, Washington
Returning to our beloved Cutthroat after an almost 7 month absence filled us with joy and excitement but also a sense of anxiety and the uncertainty of what we would find. Boat health can deteriorate without use and certainly is subject to the prevailing weather conditions. Even though all systems were working great when we departed (except for the little macerator drip that Roger is aware of and working on as I type), everything else was fully operational. Boats however, are subject to the “use it or lose it†theory, so it’s of utmost importance that we methodically go through each and every system aboard just to make sure everything is sound before we take off again. The good news is that we found Cutthroat to be in great shape! We were fortunate to have a superb and dedicated man taking care of Cutthroat. She looks showroom ready and so far (and we’re still early in the process), all systems are a go!
